“Needy Kids” Project
Nestled in the heart of Uganda, Flames of Compassion Uganda (FLACO) stands as a beacon of hope in the Nakibengo-Katiiti community of Wakiso district. Our mission is simple yet profound: to nurture self-reliant children and empower women for holistic development.
Since our journey began, guided by the motto “Empowering Dreams, Nurturing Hope,” we’ve encountered obstacles, especially in providing quality education to underprivileged children. Limited funding has been a significant challenge.
But despite financial constraints, FLACO remains steadfast in our commitment to empowering children and women. Our vision led us to a unique plan: leveraging our resources to establish a school that caters to the educational needs of vulnerable children while empowering women.
Thus, the “Needy Kids” project was born—a visionary initiative providing accessible education while empowering women through skills training and community involvement. Our FLACO’s Home, established in 2020, provides shelter for homeless children and has been greatly supported by Theresa McLaughlin.
Currently, we support 16 kids sheltered at FLACO’s Home and more than fifty from the community who have access to education at our Way to Go Junior School. Yet, we know we could do more with sufficient resources.
Despite challenges, Way to Go Junior School has become a symbol of hope and resilience within the community. Children who once had limited access to education now have the opportunity to learn and thrive, thanks to FLACO’s innovative approach and tireless efforts.
As the school continues to operate, we recognize the need for better infrastructure and resources to enhance the quality of education provided. That’s why we’re seeking funding to construct better facilities and promote the initiative to attract donations and support.
Join us in supporting the “Needy Kids” project. With your help, we can empower more dreams, build brighter futures, and illuminate the path towards a brighter, more equitable future for all. Together, we can make a difference.
